State of Play reveals Ghost of Tsushima sequel, Horizon Zero Dawn remaster, and Palworld coming to PlayStation

Sony’s latest State of Play event featured a number of PlayStation video game announcements and news, most notably the appearance of the sequel to Ghost of TsushimaGhost of Yotei, the remaster of Horizon Zero Dawn, the launch of Palworld for PS5 and the release date of Monster Hunter Wilds, which will arrive on February 28th of next year.

The video game developer has unveiled its latest developments at its latest State of Play announcement event, held this Wednesday, has collected more than 20 titles for its PlayStation 5 (PS5) gaming platform and some new features for the recently announced PlayStation 5 Pro console.

Among the titles that have been featured at the event is Ghost of Yotei, the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima developed by Sucker Punch Productions and PlayStation Studios. In this new title, set in the year 1603, players will be able to explore a new open world, based on Mount Yotei (Hokkaido, Japan), with the help of a new ghost protagonist named Atsu. Thus, this sequel is scheduled to be available in 2025.

Continuing with the news, Sony has also announced that, with the help of PlayStation Studios, Nixxes and Guerrilla Games, Horizon Zero Dawn remastered, the title published in 2017 with the adventures of Aloy as the protagonist, will be releasedThis remaster will be released on October 31 for PS5 and PC, and will include improved graphics as well as new features.

On the other hand, during the event the release date of Monster Hunter Wilds has been confirmed, which will be available to all PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X and S players, starting February 28th next year.

Following this line, PocketPair’s Palworld, which was released earlier this year for PC and Xbox Series, and has been highly acclaimed among players, has also been released for PS5. Thus, the so-called “Pokémon with guns” will be available on Sony consoles globally, although, for the moment, it has not been released in Japan.

Another new development from the State of Play is the release date for LEGO Horizon Adventure. The action-adventure title developed by TT Games and Guerrilla Games, in association with The Lego Group, will arrive on November 14 for PC, PS5 and Nintendo Switch.

Also, starting January 17 next year, players will be able to get their hands on Dynasty Warriors Origins, the adventure title in which the protagonist must fight battles against thousands of enemies, all set in a feudal era. Developed by Koei Tecno and Omega Force, this new installment is a prequel to the Dynasty Warriors saga and will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Sony has also released new footage of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, in which, as seen in the gameplay trailer, a group of adventurers face off against two large dragons. The action RPG developed by Electronic Arts will be released on October 31.

In addition to all this, Fantasian Neo Dimension, the JRPG video game developed by the creator of the Final Fantasy saga, Hironobu Sakaguchi, will be released on December 5 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. In this way, it extends to all video game platforms, since, for the moment, it was exclusive to Apple.

Another announcement revealed was the remaster of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2, which will be available on December 10 of this year for PS5 and PS4. Meanwhile, the new PlayStation video game Astro Bot will also bring new features, with a new free DLC announced that will add five extra levels and 10 new bots to find, which will arrive in the fall.

Sony has also shared that the hack and slash game Stellar Blade will have a collaboration with the title Nier: Automata in DLC format, although the release date is unknown.

As for PlayStation VR games, Sony has announced the arrival of Hitman World of Assassination for PS VR2. This game will include new nuances for virtual reality in December. Continuing with virtual reality, the title Metro Awakening VR also appeared during the event, with new images and a release date, which will be available to players on November 7.

Also present at the State of Play were video games such as Fear the Spotlight, which will be released on October 22; Towers of Agastra, which will be released in November for PS5; the Alan Wake II expansion, The Lake House; and The Midnight Walk, which will be released for PS5 and PS VR2.

Finally, Sony has also confirmed 10 new titles for its upgraded PlayStation 5 Pro console Specifically, the video games that will benefit from the new technologies integrated into the console are Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Metar Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Marvel’s Wolverine, Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4, Rise of the Ronin, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Stellar Blade.
