This is how Aiper Surfer S1 works, the robot that cleans the surface of the pool with solar energy

It is often said that you have to go to the bottom of the problems, but sometimes they are on the surface. After years creating robots to clean the floor and walls of swimming pools, Aiper presents us with a new device that focuses exclusively on the surface, Aiper Surfer S1, and I can assure you that it makes a difference. To simple problems, simple solutions.

It is evident that, for deep cleaning, swimming pools require devices capable of catch all those small particles that accumulate on the walls of the pool and can cause the water to be dirty or cloudy. However, many times we find that the most annoying thing when bathing is not that, but leaves that fall from trees, hair or bugs that accumulate on the surface.

It is not that it is particularly complicated to collect it with a net (in the case of private pools, like the one we have used for this test), but on windy days it ends up being a tedious task that ruins the day of sun and swimming. . If someone has a pool with pine trees nearby, for example, he knows what we mean. The Aiper Surfer S1 solar skimmer takes care of this task autonomously, taking advantage of solar energy and leaving the pool constantly cleansince it has up to 12 hours of autonomy.

A SOLAR PANEL AND 12 HOURS OF AUTONOMY

The device has a solar panel on top and harnesses the sun’s energy while floating in water to charge continuously. In addition, Aiper has developed an algorithm, dubbed ‘Sunseeker’, that guarantees that Surfer S1 finds enough sunlight to charge quickly when the battery is low. In case this is not possible (at night or on cloudy days) it also offers the option of conventional cable charging.

The device has a brushless motor and paddle wheel design which guarantees maximum coverage and perfect cleaning. The ‘suction’ space of the machine is quite large and that helps to pick up objects from the surface more quickly, making the most of each pass.

Likewise, the waste basket has a capacity up to 5 liters something that seemed perfect to us so as not to have to empty it for long periods (it can spend practically the entire weekend collecting dirt from the surface without us having to empty it). In any case, as in the rest of Aiper’s robots, this process is very simple: you take out the basket, empty out the dirt and hose it down to leave it looking like new.

On the other hand, Aiper Surfer S1 has ultrasonic detectors, which recognize and avoid pool walls and help with navigation. In this way, it allows you to increase the cleaning coverage of the filter and, at the same time, provides safe cleaning from corner to corner of the pool. Additionally, it has two retractable support beams at the bottom to prevent the device from climbing and getting stuck on stairs while cleaning the pool.

AIPER APP COMPATIBILITY

As a novelty, this robot also has compatibility with the Aiper mobile application, which is especially useful for providing real-time updates on pool temperature, cleaning history, and device status. It can also be controlled remotely to clean a specific area of ​​the pool, but this is a function that we do not see much sense in in a device with these characteristics, which in itself is already very easy to use.

As a summary, what we can say after testing the new Aiper Surfer S1 for a few weeks is that it is a device you don’t know you need until you use it daily. And the only drawback that can be found is the price: 429.99 euros currently on its website (although its launch price was 549.99 euros). A luxury that not everyone can afford, but that perfectly fulfills everything it promises and helps you enjoy those days at the pool even more.
