The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) has given the green light for the arrival of the new iPhone 16 models in Peru. Recently, the approval of three models of the new generation of Apple was confirmed: A3090, A3094 and A3092, including the versions iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. This approval process guarantees that devices comply with regulations and can be used on national networks.
This MTC approval means that users will be able to enjoy the new features and improvements offered by the new Apple phone at its launch, ensuring optimal operation with local telecommunications networks. It is a fundamental step for the official marketing of these devices in the country.
In total, there are 12 iPhone 16 models approved in Peru, which come from the United States and Canada. This is the complete list:
- iPhone 16 (A3287, A3286, A3081)
- iPhone 16 Plus (A3290, A3289, A3082)
- iPhone 16 Pro (A3293, A3083, A3292)
- iPhone 16 Pro Max (A3295, A3296, A3084)
Why is approval important? It allows you to validate the compatibility of the devices with the bands and technologies present in the Peruvian territory. Likewise, the MTC reported that approval facilitates the import and use of these devices, benefiting both consumers and companies.
In this way, marketing companies can now import and sell these devices throughout the country. Additionally, anyone who purchases one of these models abroad will be able to bring it into Peru without it being detained by Customs.
The new iPhone 16, presented in the US last month, incorporate several improvements compared to previous models. The most notable is the compatibility with Apple Intelligence, the company’s artificial intelligence system. However, this feature will only be available outside the US in 2025.
