The world of Made in Italy gaming is enriched with a new protagonist: Day 4 Night, a development studio founded by leading names in the gaming industry. At the head of the new adventure are Christian Cantamessa, lead designer and screenwriter of “Red Dead Redemption”, and Davide Soliani, creative director of the “Mario + Rabbids” series for Ubisoft. The new studio’s mission is clear: create experiences that redefine the boundaries of game design and interactive storytelling. Day 4 Night has already taken its first steps with the support of important financiers. In the lead, the video game publishing giant Krafton, accompanied by 1Up Ventures, the investment fund of Ed Fries, co-creator of Xbox. The team is currently working on a completely original game, but details remain confidential.
Cantamessa expressed his vision of the project, explaining how this represents a return to the creative origins that made him fall in love with the world of video games. “When I began my career, I saw the potential in the gaming medium to tell stories that had never been told before and to create worlds that transform people. Day 4 Night is a return to that innovative spirit, to that innocence and unbridled creativity,” Cantamessa said in a press release. Davide Soliani also shares the same opinion, underlining how the project represents a personal and professional achievement for him. “What we’re creating in Day 4 Night reflects everything I’ve always wanted to experience as a gamer: joy, adventure, poetry, action, wonder, and the pleasure of working with friends. It is a lullaby for the soul and a serenade for the industry, a hymn to the magic and madness of creating worlds from nothing,” said Soliani.
The founding team also includes other industry veterans: Cristina Nava, Gian Marco Zanna and Luca Breda, all with significant experiences in successful franchises such as “Mario + Rabbids”, “Just Dance”, “Ghost Recon” and “Star Wars” . Their collective experience adds further weight to the new studio and raises expectations for their first project. Maria Park, vice president and head of corporate development at Krafton, added: “The Day 4 Night proposition presented an engaging and fascinating story. The game’s vision stands out as original and creative, making it a perfect match for the type of studios we seek to support in KRAFTON. It aligns perfectly with our mission to ’empower creativity.’
