Nintendo presents an interactive alarm clock with sounds from Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda and Splatoon

Nintendo has introduced an interactive alarm clock equipped with a sensor that will arrive next year to help users wake up to sounds and music from video games such as Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarm is the name of the new ‘hardware’ that the Japanese company has presented, “an interactive alarm clock designed to add a touch of Nintendo charm to the home and users’ daily routine.”

This alarm clock has a sensor that reacts to movements and allows you to snooze the alarm simply by moving or stop it directly by getting out of bed. With it it is also possible to track sleeping habits, as it detects that users move while they sleep.

It is possible to set a time signal inspired by one of the available video games and switch between energetic mode and gentle mode for the alarm, to wake up.

In strong mode, the alarm will gradually intensify the longer users stay in bed, while in soft mode the alarm will play at a more consistent level of intensity. A button mode is also available, which offers a more traditional experience where you have to press a button to snooze the alarm.

In addition, it is possible to activate the ‘Placid sounds’ option to relax listening to music and calm sounds when going to bed.

There are 35 scenes available inspired by five Nintendo titles: Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4 and Ring Fit Adventure. Depending on which one they have chosen, users will wake up to sounds and music from their favorite video game.

If users link their Nintendo Account, they will be able to download more scenes through free updates as they become available, including scenes from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarm will be available in stores in mid-January 2025, and Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can pre-purchase it through the My Nintendo Store starting this week.
