Konami Digital Entertainment, a mainstay in football simulation games since 1995 with over 800 million total sales and downloads, and FIFA have recently announced, in an official note, a revolutionary collaboration in the world of eSports. This new global partnership will see the organization of two editions of the FIFAe World Cup, on consoles and mobile devices respectively. The main objective is to increase interaction with the vast international football community, offering players the opportunity to represent their nations on exclusively dedicated stages.
Qualifying for the FIFAe World Cup™ kicks off globally today, October 10. Each tournament will see the investiture of a FIFAe World Champion.
There will be 18 nations represented in the final phase of the events. The selected nations were chosen considering various factors, such as the number of active players and historical results in their respective countries. All eFootball fans and players are encouraged to participate.
The associations participating in the first edition of the FIFAe World Cup with eFootball include Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, England, France, India, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Spain , Thailand and Turkey. Italy is not currently among the nations represented.
The competition will be divided into three main segments.
The three rounds of in-game qualifiers will take place from 10 to 20 October. The national candidacy phases in the 18 competing countries will follow from 28 October to 3 November. Finally, the final phase of the “FIFAe World Cup 2024™”, which will take place offline towards the end of 2024.
