Instagram presents profile cards, a new way to share your profile and connect with more friends

Instagram has presented the profile cards an option with which, through a personal file, users can share your profile, your interests and your tastes more easily with other users, in order to promote new ways to connect and make more friends.

The social network owned by Meta continues working on the implementation of new options to make its platform a space in which users can share their tastes, create new connections, Find more like-minded people and start relevant conversations.

In this sense, Instagram has presented its new tool profile cardswith which users can create a personalized file with your tastes and interests to easily present yourself to other users on the social network.

As defined by the company in a statement, this novelty is similar to “a digital business card”, since it has been designed to offer an easier way to connect, when allow knowing the main personal characteristics of a user in a glance.

Specifically, these cards are made up of from the guys: On the one hand, it will show the user profile photo along with personal information such as biography details of the profile, links to websites of interest or even a song.

On the other hand, the card will show a QR code that will give access to the profile. Likewise it will be possible customize background from the card by selecting a photo from the user’s files.

Instagram has highlighted the ease of profile sharing cards since it will no longer be necessary to send the username with the ‘@’ sign, but you can Send the file directly and follow the profile in question using the QR code.

The option of using these QR codes to share profiles on Instagram has been available since 2020 in Spain, however, with the new profile cards, users will be able to accompany the QR code with personal informationwhich will help people know some characteristics of the profile before following it.

To create a profile card, users will need to tap the ‘Share’ option that appears next to the edit profile button, below the biography. After that, the profile card will automatically appear with the user’s available information.

Thus, they can customize profile elements by clicking on the pencil icon that appears in the upper right corner. In this way, you can update the information, add links and music or change the background image.

Finally, users will be able to share your card profile through different options, through direct messages, downloading its link or posting it in stories. Specifically, with the ‘Add to story’ option, a rotating card will be generated that will show both sides. Users will also be able to download the video from the rotating profile card to share it through other platforms.

Las profile cards are now available and the company has encouraged users to use them to stay in touch with friends, make new connections and express their creativity.

Furthermore, for those content creator users Instagram has also highlighted its use to share it with possible collaborators or brands so that they can be made known in “an elegant digital package.”
