Account closure: TikTok has blocked the spreader of false information about the rescue of the abductees

The video app TikTok blocked the account that spread rumors about the rescue of the kidnapped. The Chinese network, which received severe criticism during the past year for false publications about Israel, and for minimizing the Israeli side, said today that it prohibits the distribution of misinformation.

The blocked account belongs to a popular TikTok star under the nickname “Da Shadow 7000” who is followed by over 52 thousand subscribers. Today he published false information to his followers in Hebrew that 30 kidnapped families received information about the return of their loved ones from Hamas captivity, some dead and some alive.

In the video, De Schadeau said: “The rescue lasted three hours and was very exciting,” and continued with an ironic reading, “Don’t stick to rumors, don’t stick to fake news. Stop it. There are now kidnapped families waiting for news, please consider them.”

De Shadow went on to upload another video in which he spread false information about the names of abductees who were rescued alive, one of them being the observer Leary Elbag. The rumor about her, and the names of another abductor, have been circulating since the morning hours. As mentioned, IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari was forced to publish messages three times today in which he clarifies that the rumors about the rescue of the abductees are false.

TikTok said in response: “TikTok has blocked the account that spread during the last hours rumors about the return of abductees. Spreading false information is prohibited on the platform.”
