The response comes on behalf of the Internet Archive team and in addition to insisting on the lack of security of the website, the hackers report that they have in their hands a Zendesk token that gives access to “over 800,000 support tickets submitted to [email protected] since 2018”, as those affected have shared in forums such as Reddit and on the specialized portal The Verge.

The nonprofit digital library suffered a series of denial-of-service attacks earlier this month (DDoS) which in addition to knocking down the page ended up resulting in the filtration from a database authentication system that contained 31 million unique records or user accounts.

Last week, its founder, Brewster Kahle, confirmed that user data “is safe” and that they work in restore your service put it into operation in the next few days.
