Qualcomm reveals the Snapdragon 8 Elite: a chip with laptop power

Qualcomm has officially presented the Snapdragon 8 Elite, its new processor designed for phones high-end. The chip stands out for the power of its second-generation Oryon CPU, which promises a 45% increase in performance and 44% in energy efficiency. These improvements place the Snapdragon 8 Elite as the most advanced processor on the market today.

The chip also features an Adreno GPU, which increases graphics performance by 40% and optimizes ray tracing. In addition, Qualcomm has improved artificial intelligence capabilities, with a 45% increase in performance compared to the previous generation.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite is not only focused on performance, but also on connectivity. The processor includes the X80 modem with 5G technology and a FastConnect 7900 with integrated Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth and UWB, ensuring advanced connectivity.

One of the big changes that Qualcomm introduces is its commitment to its own core design in its CPU, differentiating itself from its competitors. This, together with video game performance and compatibility with Unreal Engine 5.3, ensures a superior experience on high-end mobile phones.

Although the Snapdragon 8 Elite has been revealed, it will not be available on the market until 2025, when manufacturers like Xiaomi will launch the first devices with this chip.
