HarmonyOS Next, Huawei’s new operating system with native smart experiences

Huawei has provided users of its brand in China with the operating system HarmonyOS Nextthe interaction of its ‘software’ with which it eliminates Android applications from its ecosystem, which comes with new experiences driven by artificial intelligence.

The technology company has held an event in China that marks the beginning of the availability of the HarmonyOS Next operating system for users of its smartphones in the Asian country, which comes with five updated native experiences.

With HarmonyOS Next, Huawei says goodbye to Android applications and welcomes a native intelligent system, ‘Harmony Intelligente’, which interacts with the user through an assistant that accompanies them in different applications. And to the use of artificial intelligence to boost editing tools, security and interoperability between different screens.

This operating system also offers faster connection between devices, as well as up to 30 percent higher performance with up to 20 percent lower power consumption. And it comes with an ecosystem of 1,500 applications and services.

This operating system presents a redesigned user interface, which differs from what HarmonyOS already showed, and incorporates a new security system, called ‘Star Shield’, as reported by Android Headlines.

The HarmonyOS Next open beta is now available for Huawei users in China, initially for the Pura 70 series, Huawei Pocket 2, and Huawei MatePad Pro 11 (2024) devices. The company’s intention is for it to reach a wide variety of products, including smart watches.
