of the SpaceX company the crew of the historic Polaris Dawn space flight has returned back to Earth.

In the aftermath of spaceflight on air it was seen how the Dragon ship carrying the crew landed in the sea off the coast of the US state of Florida early in the morning local time.

The ship was lifted onto the ship that came to pick up the four-person crew about half an hour later.

After a short medical examination, SpaceX’s space engineer Anna Menon was the first crew member to step out. After him came space engineers Sarah Gillisa retired US Air Force pilot Scott Poteet and the billionaire who led the crew Jared Isaacman. A helicopter is to take them ashore.

The crew set off on Tuesday from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The departure had previously been postponed a couple of times due to, among other things, technical problems and bad weather.

On space flight history was made Thursday when Isaacman and Gillis made the first private spacewalk.

“At home, we all have a lot of work to do. But from here, the world looks perfect,” Isaacman said on SpaceX’s live broadcast after stepping outside the Dragon spacecraft.

During the spacewalk, Isaacman and Gillis performed mobility tests in the new spacesuits developed by SpaceX. Both were outside the ship for ten minutes.

Also the head of the US space agency NASA Bill Nelson said the spacewalk was a giant leap forward for the commercial space industry.

The founder of Shift4 Payments, Isaacman was also involved in Space X’s first all-civilian space flight in 2021.

Isaacman has not said publicly how much money he has invested in the project. However, reports have suggested that he paid around $200 million for his previous civilian flight into space.
