Honor has announced his custom artificial intelligence (AI) operating system MagicOS 9.0, which is based on the MagicLM large language model (LLM) with multimodal capabilities and integrates the improved YOYO assistant converted into an AI agent.
MagicOS 9.0 has recently been presented in China. With this software, the technology company “introduces the industry’s first multi-application AI agent”, as highlighted by the head of the Honor Devices division, George Zhao, in a press release.
At the base of the intelligent system is the MagicLM model family, which Honor has designed to create transformative experiences with multimodal interactions, and what does it contribute AI improvements at the platform level.
As explained by Honor, the LLM dynamically allocates AI computing power based on the specific needs of different user scenarios. By combining and allocating resources on the device and in the cloud, you achieve an optimal balance between efficiency and experience.
Specifically, it uses an LLM of 3 billion parameters that runs on device and what will be Compatible with mid-range and high-end product series from the Chinese brand. Compared to the previous model of 7 billion parameters, it achieves an 80% reduction in power consumption, a 77% increase in loading speed, a 500% increase in word output speed, and a reduction of 1 .8 GB and 1.6 GB in ROM and RAM usage, respectively, according to data shared by Honor.
YOYO, THE NEW AI AGENT
Honor has also announced YOYO updatewhich goes from being an intelligent assistant to an AI agent, thanks to its four main functions: the understanding of natural language and computer vision, the learning of user behavior habits and the perception of scenarios, the recognition of intentions and decision-making capacity, as well as functioning inside and outside the application.
YOYO can accurately understand user needs, decompose task steps, and independently operate and retrieve various third-party resources and services on the phonein order to meet the user’s needs based on their learning of behavioral habits and usage scenario.
Currently, YOYO can understand 600 types of user intentions, remember 950 personal habits, and plan 270 complex tasks. With a single command, it can automatically execute 900 tasks, such as ordering coffee and tea; manage automatic renewal of applications, permissions, notifications; convert documents and even fill out forms
In addition to the new AI Agent, Honor also Magic Portal has been updatedwhich can understand contextual semantics and accurately interpret user intent, providing more accurate service recommendations. In addition, it can now cover ten main user scenarios and more than one hundred applications, with a 255% increase in service integration compared to MagicOS 8.0.
For its part, Magic Capsule It also expands its application scenarios to cover frequently used scenarios, such as flights, car travel, high-speed train, express delivery, takeaway, watching movies, games, system services, and so on.
NEW AI FEATURES WITH MAGICOS 9.0
MagicOS 9.0 also integrates the first deepfake detection function (realistic audiovisual manipulations with AI), which significantly improves security and protects users from possible scams.
When it comes to connectivity, the new MagicRing offers improvements in heterogeneous networks, security collaboration between devices and network self-organization capabilities. And in personalization, Magic Personalization, with features like Versatile Desktop, Magic Lock Screen and Magic Style, allows users to express their individuality through on-device AI capabilities.
For creators, AI Gallery includes tools like AI Eraser, Face Restoration, AI Image Expansion, and AI Style; while for office professionals, AI Notes introduces AI Meetings, which automatically records conversations with person identification and generates professional meeting summaries with a single touch. Additionally, AI Docs helps in reading, writing, translating, and summarizing, while AI Translate supports multiple interaction methods and offers real-time translation.
