The Israeli start-up company Revealense unveils a powerful new AI-based system – illuminator Massive Deepfake Detector that faces the growing threat of the deepfake phenomenon in election systems, the world of finance and the media. The launch of the system is being carried out in these critical days, in a year when elections are held in dozens of countries, including large democracies such as the USA.
The power of the system is based on its ability to analyze human behavior in videos by examining human behavior indicators related to the autonomic nervous system of the subjects. This approach makes it possible to identify unusual characteristics in emotional or mental reactions, behavioral incompatibility in relation to the context and distinguish between real humans and sophisticated bots or manipulated content.
The new system analyzes videos on a wide scale and sorts them into three categories: deep fake, authenticity and suspicious videos that require further examination. It is capable of processing an unlimited amount of content, from single videos to millions of videos, and is therefore considered a valuable asset that guarantees the ability to respond to any amount of malicious activity carried out through the use of Deep Fake.
“The deep fake phenomenon grew at a rate of 245% in 2024 and its potential damage to national events such as elections or bank fraud events, corporate reputation attacks, etc. is significant. The demand for the system from government bodies, financial institutions and corporate bodies is growing every day in an attempt to create a new line of defense will protect democratic processes, secure business and financial conduct and prevention of disinformation campaigns.”
The threat of deep fakes is increasing as a result of the availability and accessibility of technologies that make it possible to create realistic deep fake videos at a high level, alongside the ease of distributing the videos on social networks and taking advantage of the virality that generates resonance very quickly. In addition, Deep Fake has become a psychological “weapon” that is also used by countries, which use it to spread misleading information and influence the opinion of citizens in their country or in other countries.
China is reportedly using AI-based content to influence elections, as seen in the Taiwan election earlier this year and the Indian primary election where a large number of voice conversations simulated the voices of political figures. These examples illuminate the potential of deepfakes to influence public opinion and voting patterns and pose a threat to democracy.
The ability to use the Revealense Illuminator through an API allows to quickly identify deepfake videos without limitations of the scope of the contents and the system becomes an essential resource for workers in the election campaigns, media bodies and groups that monitor the purity of the elections and the democratic process.
