Mark Zuckerberg would have to spend million a month for 550 years to exhaust his fortune

The heritage of Mark Zuckerbergfounder of Facebook and CEO of Meta, does not stop growing. In 2024, his money experienced unprecedented growth: it reached the unreal figure of $201.1 billion, according to data from Forbes. With increase, the technological leader is placed in fourth position in the ranking of global billionaires, this despite the losses generated by its metaverse project, which has not yet taken off.

The numbers on paper may not be very impressive. But to contextualize the magnitude of his wealth we can use the following example. If Zuckerberg decided to retire to his ranch in Hawaii and empty his entire bank account, I would have to spend a million dollars a month for no less than a period of 550. This figure is similar to that of Jeff Bezos, the genius behind Amazon, who would also require more than five centuries to exhaust his fortune in similar circumstances.

According to the Xataka portal, the growth in Zuckerberg’s assets represents an increase of 73.5 billion dollars so far in 2024. This means that a second of the founder of Meta equals an approximate profit of $2,330. Thus, with each passing day, the technology magnate adds millions to his fortune, even while he sleeps, since during his rest hours, Forbes estimates, he earns around $67 million every night.

And if we analyze only his increase in assets for the current years as labor income, Zuckerberg would obtain a hypothetical monthly salary of 6,125 million dollars, that is, the equivalent of 35.3 million dollars per hour in an eight-hour day.

At 40 years old, the technology entrepreneur continues to accumulate a fortune that seems unattainable for most workers. An ordinary mortal would need a salary of $2.1 million per hour for 45 years to reach Zuckerberg’s net worth.
