The appliance ecosystem, with some exceptions, is made up of fully functional equipment, although with little design value. To change this reality, Peugeot has just launched its new line locally Smart Living.
The iconic brand that has been at the forefront of automotive innovation for more than 210 years plans to transform homes by incorporating new technologies such as voice recognition or Wi-Fi in most devices.
As its creators explain, each product is designed with the aim of accompanying users through practical solutions for daily life that, in most cases, offer more than one solution.
The curious thing about this Argentine venture, which is responsible for both design and manufacturing in China, is that it had the audacity to contact Peugeot’s parent company to propose this original line of products.
After some back and forth, the parties finally reached an agreement and now, each new item that is created is supervised by Peugeot down to the smallest details.
“They are very demanding, what matters most to them is not to discredit the brand itself. I had to present many plans and I met with them several times in France until they finally gave me the OK,” says Marcelo Alfie, CEO of the AMI Group.
Another curious fact is that this line debuted a few weeks ago in the local market exclusively. The plans are to expand it to other countries in the region and of course, reach France.
