Half-Life 2 celebrates 20 years with a new RTX edition

Originally released on November 16, 2004, Half-Life 2, Valve’s true masterpiece, marked an era, collecting over 30 awards such as Game of the Year. To celebrate the twentieth anniversary, NVIDIA has teamed up with Orbifold Studios to release “Half-Life 2 RTX,” a remastered version that implements ray tracing technologies and significant graphics improvements.

“Half-Life 2 RTX” is not just a tribute, but a real technological update of the beloved title. Using the NVIDIA RTX Remix platform, Orbifold Studios was able to implement full ray tracing, NVIDIA DLSS, NVIDIA Reflex, as well as modernize rendering with physically-based resources (PBR) and generative AI texturing tools.
