The new WhatsApp update that will prevent messages from “getting lost”

WhatsApp has launched a new update called “Draft Messages”, which is designed to help users save messages that have not yet been sent. The innovation ensures that you will no longer have to worry about losing unfinished messages. From now on, any message you start typing but don’t send will automatically be saved as a draft.

The update works in a simple way: when you start typing a message but leave the chat before sending, WhatsApp marks the chat with a green “draft” symbol. This check also appears in the list of chats, accompanied by a preview of the unsent message. Meanwhile – chats that include drafts will be moved to the top of the chat list, so that it will be easy to find them and complete the writing.

The innovation brings WhatsApp closer to competing applications, such as Telegram and Google Messages, which have been offering a similar option for a long time. Although this is a relatively small change, it improves the convenience of using the application by preventing messages from being lost or replies being left unanswered.

Besides renewing the drafts, WhatsApp has also recently introduced other updates. One of them is the “personalized lists” innovation, which was launched a few weeks ago. This option allows users to organize the list of chats using tags such as “work”, “friends” or “family”. You can also create custom tags to tailor the list to each user’s individual needs.

In addition, WhatsApp is developing an update that may change the way the application is used. The update will allow you to use a username instead of a phone number. This innovation will apparently allow access to WhatsApp from any device without the need for the phone to be nearby. The development, which is still in the early stages, is expected to include a synchronization mechanism that will keep the contact list updated on all devices.

Another recently introduced update is the possibility to control the privacy level of calls. Users can now choose who can see their personal photo, activity status (“last seen”) or personal information, in a personalized way according to specific groups or contacts. This is alongside adding security tools such as locking chats using an access code or biometric identification.
