New on Instagram: this is how you change the annoying reel recommendations that pop up in the feed

Do Instagram’s content recommendations annoy you? You are really not alone. After years of complaints, Meta, the owner of Instagram decided to go a little towards the users, and will allow you to reset and reset the content recommendations that pop up in the feed.

In a few clicks, users will be able to clear all the content that Instagram recommends to them in Reels, Feed and Explore – and start over. The new tool will be gradually launched worldwide in the coming weeks, including in Israel.

To reset the content recommendations, tap on the account settings (Settings and activity), and then on Suggested content. In the menu, select the Reset suggested content option. The recommendations will then begin to be re-personalized over time, and Instagram will present new recommendations based on content consumption and interactions on the platform.

During the reset process, people will be given the option to review all the accounts they follow, and unfollow certain accounts.

The new tool is added to the tools that Instagram offers to make content adjustments, such as the Not Interested mark through the three-dot menu on the side of the post, safety tools such as Hidden Words that hide content that includes certain words or phrases, or tools such as Close Friends and Favorites.

Instagram recently announced several innovations in the application. Among other things, starting with the next update, the application will not refresh automatically upon opening, but only after the user starts scrolling.

Meanwhile, the option to respond to stories publicly was added, which allows for a more open and dynamic interaction between users. In addition, the live broadcast capabilities have been upgraded, giving content creators new tools to improve the viewing and broadcasting experience. The process of sharing posts in the story has also become more convenient and intuitive, making it easier for users to share interesting content with their followers.
