PlayStation Portal tests cloud gaming with latest software update

PlayStation has announced support for cloud gaming in PS Portal,a device that so far only allows remote play to continue with the game started on the PS5 console.

The technology company has updated the PS Portal software to offer a better audio experience, with the possibility of adjusting the volume levels on the speakers and a device linked with the PlayStation Link USB adapter.

The update also includes testing a feature requested by many users: cloud gaming. PS Portal currently has the limitation that you must be connected via WiFi to a PS5 console to follow the game remotely.

The members of PlayStation Plus Premium They will be able to participate in the beta of the cloud game and play some of the titles (more than 120) for PS5 in the catalog directly on PS Portal, without needing the console, as the company has reported on its official blog.

The test will be available in Spain, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Being an experimental feature, PlayStation will not offer all features. Even so, it will support a retransmission of up to 1080 pixels at 60 frames per second; controller usage DualSense wireless,with haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, speakers, touch panel and motion sensor; and the PlayStation Plus Cloud storage, with capacity up to 100GB and synchronization with PS5.

The beta leaves out game testing, streaming of games purchased from the PS Store, system features such as group voice chat and invitations to selected games, the ‘Create’ button, 3D audio, and in-game commerce, as well as PS4 and PS3 titles.

PS Portal hit the market at the end of last year. Combine on a single device wireless, a DualSense controller and an LCD screen high definition and gives access to the games installed on PS5. This device reproduces the haptic experience and adaptive triggers offered by the DualSense controller and allows you to play on an 8-inch screen with 1080p resolution at 60Hz and up to 60 frames per second.
