Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced a new system update for PlayStation Portal that will be released starting Wednesday. The update introduces a series of improvements, including the ability to stream PlayStation 5 games via the cloud. First of all, the update brings with it improvements to the audio. You will be able to adjust the speaker volume so that it is lower when the overall audio level is at its minimum. Furthermore, you will be able to change the settings of the PlayStation Link device directly from the PlayStation Portal Settings menu, thus optimizing the volume and audio feedback.
But the real news is the introduction of cloud streaming in beta version. PlayStation Plus Premium members will be able to access this feature and stream a selection of PlayStation 5 titles from the Plus catalog. This means they will be able to enjoy games such as Dave The Diver, Ghost of Tsushima, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and many others directly from Sony’s servers, even without owning a PlayStation 5 console. All with a resolution of up to 1080p and 60 fps and with support for DualSense controller features, such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
During the beta, up to 100GB of save data and game progress will be stored in the PlayStation Plus cloud and will automatically sync to your PlayStation 5 console, allowing you to seamlessly switch between local and streaming gameplay and between different devices. Please remember that this is a beta version, so some features may change over time and the final experience may be different. Sony encourages users to provide feedback during the beta to help improve the service.
