Huawei Consumer Business Group has announced the launch of the new Huawei Watch D2a real-time blood pressure monitoring device that is priced at 399 euros and is equipped with a high-precision sensor, a mini pump and an inflatable air bag to provide correct measurements of vital signs.

This ‘smartwatch’ has been developed under the motto ‘Health Forward’ (translated as ‘the health of the future’), and thanks to the Huawei TruSense sensor system, it allows you to obtain faster and more precise results and has more than 60 health indicators. health and fitness.

The technology company has recognized that, throughout the day, factors such as work stress, lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits can cause emotional fluctuations that cause changes in blood pressure, which is why it must be controlled to identify possible risks. of hypertension.

To know it in detail, it has manufactured Huawei Watch D2, a ‘wearable’ available in two colors (with a gold or black crown) that equips a 1.82-inch screen and has a user interface with a 2.5D floating design. Additionally, it is only 1/5 the width and 1/25 the volume of traditional electronic upper arm blood pressure monitors.

This device allows for 24-hour monitoring – automatically at night – and adds a physical air bag of just 26.5 mm to inflate and measure blood pressure at intervals with smart reminders throughout the day via an ambulatory blood pressure monitoring system (ABPM), as explained by the firm in its presentation.

When this cuff is inflated to a suprasystolic pressure, the pressure in the cuff is transmitted through the soft tissue of the arm to the arterial wall. A sensor attached to the cuffs then picks up the pressure fluctuations caused by the blood flow and obtains the blood pressure value through analysis.

The ‘smartwatch’, which also promotes a healthy and intelligent lifestyle, covers different dimensions, such as exercise, diet, sleep or weight, which helps to develop lifestyle habits that favor the control of the aforementioned blood pressure. . With it it is also possible to access a Health Glance report, which allows you to identify possible health risks and shows information on skin temperature and vascular elasticity taking data from the last 30 days.

Huawei Watch D2 is also equipped with various sports functions that adapt to a large number of sports functions of all kinds and supports more than 80 exercise modes, such as running, walking, cycling and mountain climbing, with a positioning system of accurate global navigation satellite system (GNSS).
