Instagram will launch tonight (other) three new tools in direct messages. The new update, which will soon also arrive in Israel, is added to a series of innovations added by the photos and videos application.
From tonight you can add nicknames to members in the group chats in the direct messages, the DM. The nicknames can be changed at any stage to match that point in time. Nicknames for each contact are only valid for a specific chat, so private jokes from one chat won’t spill over to another.
In addition, Instagram is starting the launch of location sharing in DM messages. From now on, people will be able to share their live location in time ranges of up to one hour, or share a specific location by pinning and marking it on the map – including in group chats.
In the meantime, Instagram is adding 17 new packs of stickers to the DM messages. The new tools will be gradually launched worldwide in the coming weeks, including Israel.
The new additions are part of an intensive update process by Meta, the owner of Instagram. Recently, the application renewed the content recommendation options: after years of complaints, the application allows you to reset and reset the content recommendations that pop up in the feed.
To reset the content recommendations, tap on the account settings (Settings and activity), and then on Suggested content. In the menu, select the Reset suggested content option. The recommendations will then begin to be re-personalized over time, and Instagram will present new recommendations based on content consumption and interactions on the platform. During the reset process, people will be given the option to review all the accounts they follow, and unfollow certain accounts.
In the meantime, Instagram fixed the refresh so that the application will not refresh automatically upon opening but only after the user has started scrolling. The option to respond to stories publicly was also added, which allows for a more open and dynamic interaction between users. In addition, the live broadcast capabilities have been upgraded, giving content creators new tools to improve the viewing and broadcasting experience. The process of sharing posts in the story has also become more convenient and intuitive, making it easier for users to share interesting content with their followers.
