Pokémon, Guinness World Record with 20,000 card unboxing marathon

The Pokémon Company International announced that it has officially won the Guinness World Record title for the longest live video unboxing. The feat was achieved thanks to the collaboration of numerous content creators from all over Europe, who came together for a 24-hour marathon of opening Pokémon products. During the live broadcast, over 1,500 Pokémon-licensed packs and items were opened, for an estimated total of over 20,000 cards revealed. Italy was represented by Eleolivieri and Toto96, who participated in the initiative for two hours. At the end of the marathon, Pikachu also appeared to celebrate the record achievement and accept the official Guinness certificate.

The event was organized to celebrate the launch of the new expansion of the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), “Scarlet and Violet – Sparks of Lightning”, available at all authorized retailers. The tens of thousands of cards drawn during the livestream will be donated to several charities ahead of the holiday season, including Barnardo’s, KidsOut, Fondazione Banco Alimentare Onlus, Tafel Deutschland and Fundacion Tomillo. “It’s been an amazing 24-hour pack-opening marathon, and we’re thrilled to have achieved such an ambitious goal alongside an incredible team of content creators,” said Peter Murphy, Senior Director of Marketing at The Pokémon Company International. Fans those who wish to relive the excitement of the event can watch the complete recording on the Pokémon Twitch channel. Furthermore, in the next few days the content creators involved will organize giveaways of Pokémon products on their channels.
