Fortnite, colossal virtual concert with Snoop Dogg, Eminem and others

Fortnite raised the bar for virtual concerts with an event featuring four world-famous artists: Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Ice Spice and the late Juice WRLD. Unlike previous events, which focused on a single artist, this time Epic Games opted for a stellar cast, transforming each performer into a kaiju-style giant and integrating elements of Fortnite lore. The event, a crescendo of spectacularity, transported players from Snoop Dogg’s “compound”, present on the game map since the beginning of November, to space, culminating in an epic battle between Eminem and a giant robot. Ice Spice, in turn, dominated the skyline of a metropolis like a modern-day Godzilla, while Juice WRLD’s performances brought players back to the battle royale island, transforming them into the iconic luminescent butterflies that first appeared during the event of the black hole of 2019.

The event did not limit itself to offering a high-level musical show, but also anticipated the future of Fortnite, with a preview of the new game island that will be available from December 1st with the start of the new chapter. At the conclusion of the concert, Juice WRLD’s new animated music video, “Empty Out Your Pockets”, set right inside Fortnite, premiered. This colossal event comes at the end of a month full of news for Epic Games’ battle royale. November saw the launch of “Fortnite: Chapter 2 Remix”, a reimagined version of the game with a weekly focus on different musical artists, preceded by a live concert by Snoop Dogg and Ice Spice in Times Square. The mini season also introduced new skins and a revamped battle pass system. The virtual concert closed out “Chapter 2: Remix” in style and set the stage for the new season, “Hunters,” which debuts Dec. 1 with the addition of Godzilla, Baymax and a new game island. But the surprises don’t end there: Epic Games has announced the permanent return of “Fortnite OG”, the original map of the game, starting from December 6th.
