Huawei at the inaugurated Huawei Spain Academy a new project designed to promote digital talent of up to 50,000 people in Spain through educational training based on more than 3,000 courses focused on the acquisition of digital, green and cyber-secure skills.
In a panorama in which the technology sector increasingly demands more jobs that require specialized technological skills, the Chinese company has shared the importance of promote talent as a key to promoting technological innovation, sustainable development and the business fabric of a country.
Therefore, to continue advancing in digital transformation, it is essential guarantee training in digital skills for all citizens, reduce the digital divide and increase the percentage of ICT specialists, as pointed out by the CEO of Huawei Iberia, Andrés Yin. All this, ensuring that no one is left behind in the process.
In this framework, in order to help promote talent in Spain, technology has inaugurated its Huawei Spain Academy projectin an event held at the Huawei Spain headquarters, which included the participation of counselor of Digitalization of the Community of Madrid, Miguel López-Valverde; the ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Yao Jing; and the general director of SEPE, Gerardo Gutiérrez; among other personalities.
Under the motto ‘Welcome to your next level’, Huawei Spain Academy is a new training and talent program institution from Huawei Spainthe first of the company in Europewhich brings together a wide variety of training programs and courses in ICT technologies, especially focused on enhancing digital, green and cyber-secure talent.
TRAIN 50,000 PEOPLE IN FIVE YEARS
This new initiative offers users the possibility of obtaining educational training with more than 3,000 courseswith which the company intends to train up to 50,000 people in a period of five years, led by a team made up of more than 300 international experts and 50 national experts. All this, with the support and collaboration of more than 20 universities and institutionswhich are already attached to the Huawei Spain Academy.
As explained by the vice president of Huawei Spain, Carmen González Gens, this training is designed so that “All types of people can access the best training content based on their different needs“That is, it covers different levels of specialization in its courses, from ‘junior’ technical positions to ‘highly qualified’ experts.
In this way, you will be able to find specialized courses for both active professionals, as well as for unemployed professionalsuniversity and vocational training students, children between 7 and 14 years old and teenagers between 15 and 18 years old.
González Gens has highlighted that Huawei Spain Academy also includes courses that promote vocation for STEM careers in women and girls at early ages, as well as for “professional women who aspire to be leaders.” Likewise, they have courses focused on vulnerable groupssuch as people with disabilities, migrants or older people, in order to adapt to the needs of any person.
NEW TRAINING CENTER IN SAN SEBASTIÁN DE LOS REYES
Huawei Spain Academy courses will be taught both in ‘online’ and in-person formatin it new Huawei training center located in San Sebastián de los Reyes (Madrid)which was also inaugurated this Tuesday.
This new training center is a space of more than 400 square meters, which is equipped with wireless broadband technology (MBB), fixed broadband (FBB), fiber to the room (FTTR) and digital solutions in the field of energy and cybersecurity, among others.
With this, students have the necessary facilities and resources to carry out their training, explore, experiment and create innovative solutions, since it has been thought of as a center that, according to González Gens, “is not only a space to learn, but is a center of innovation.” Thus, students will be able participate in case studies, simulations and problem solving of the real world, “beyond theoretical knowledge”.
VARIOUS TRAINING IN ICT FIELD
Specifically, as Huawei has specified, the technological areas that constitute the training courses include, among others, technologies and mobile broadband networks such as 4G and 5G, fixed broadband technologies and networks such as FTTx, connectivity such as ‘routing & switching’ and storage technologies.
Following this line, there are also courses focused on the development of skills in cybersecurity, development of Cloud architecture, knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI), ‘Cloud Computing’, Internet of Things (IoT) or machine learning.
Finally, in green digitalization learning, Huawei offers educational content on, for example, how to perform electrical connectivity in photovoltaic inverters. Likewise, students will be able to learn about how to operate and commission a real residential photovoltaic installation with “cutting edge equipment”“.
PILLARS THAT SUPPORT HUAWEI SPAIN ACADEMY
In addition to the training centers, such as the recently opened one in San Sebastián de los Reyes, the company has specified that the Huawei Spain Academy is also based on other pillars such as Academic Platforman open space for students and professionals that includes a “cutting-edge curriculum” in aspects such as connectivity, Cloud & Computing and application development, among others.
Another of the pillars is Huawei Campuscreated to prepare students for a future work activity. Specifically, it provides the ‘Being a tiker’ program, with training experiences aimed at Communications Engineering students from first to fourth grade, and opportunities for students who are in their final undergraduate and Master’s courses to learn about the activity that is involved. carried out within the company, with the ‘Being an intern’ program.
The program aimed at recent graduates ‘Being a fresh graduate’, which includes a permanent contract and a specific training program with internships and positions designed for recent graduates, and finally, a program designed for young professionals, starting in their second year of activity, they can learn and develop their activity in an international company, like Huawei, ‘Being Huawei’.
Finally, the Social Action Program It is another of the company’s pillars, with initiatives such as the ‘The Future of ICT’ scholarship program or the Huawei Smartbus, for the training of children between 7 and 13 years old and their teachers.
