Instagram creators will be able to use test reels to see what works best among users who do not follow them

Instagram has introduced test reels, a feature that will allow creators to share test content, see what works best and what interests people who are not among their followers.

The platform has acknowledged that many users “feel nervous about posting too much or trying out content that is outside your Instagram niche for fear that it will not resonate with his followers”, which is why he has developed an alternative for his publications.

With test reels, content creators can showcase a new genre, storytelling format, or topic to get an idea of ​​how their content might perform with people who don’t follow them.

That way, if they are satisfied with their test reels and their performance, they can share it with their own followers easily or decide whether to set the ‘reel’ so that, once the test is completed and if it works correctly, it is automatically shared with the people who follow them.

To share a test reel, follow the usual steps required to create a reel, but before publishing it, tap the ‘Test’ button to activate it. After sharing itcan be viewed in the profilealong with the ‘reels’ drafts.

These video posts will not be shown to others in the main profile grid or reels tab unless the creators decide to share it later. His followers, therefore, will not see it either. neither in the ‘feed’ nor in the ‘reels’ tab.

Instagram has commented that approximately 24 hours after sharing a test reel you will be able to access the interaction metrics with it, including views, the ‘likes’, the comments and the times it was shared.

He also noted that this functionality, which has already been available to some testers, has already begun to be implemented and will be available globally to all creators in the coming weeks.
