Orbital Reef: Jeff Bezos’ space station for tourists that will cost 100 billion dollars

The International Space Station (ISS) has an expiration date and in USA They are already thinking about what will replace it, after 26 years of service in orbit uniting the world’s greatest space powers.

It’s not just a new space station. A report from Xataka indicates that the project has already been in development for three years, for which NASA has already granted it an initial budget of 130 million dollars.

The new station is designed as a multifunctional and self-sufficient space of 823 cubic meters. It will have dormitories to accommodate space tourists, social areas, as well as modules for scientific research and other activities.

In other words, it is not just a station for space research. And this is related to the thinking of Jeff Bezos. Like his billionaire colleague Elon Musk, the owner of Blue Origin believes that life will be interplanetary, but he does not believe that people should live on other planets, but in space.

It is estimated that the first designs of the space station are designed to house ten people. The expansion will occur with new modules. The first launch will take place in 2027 and it would enter into operation in 2030.

The investment in the station, which can be compared to a hotel, includes collaboration between industry giants such as Blue Origin, Sierra Space, Amazon and Boeing.
