Research and development to support innovation and sustainability in garden care

“Within the company I like to define myself as a “joker”, a role that allows me to be a sort of link between the different departments and the sales network, providing a transversal perspective that encourages collaboration and development”.

This is reflected not only in the research and development of cutting-edge products, but also in corporate practices that put environmental protection at the center of their actions. Among the most significant projects in which I am involved“, continued Banin, “I particularly care about multi-year project on mulching in collaboration with the University of Padua, aimed at exploring the benefits of this practice for lawn health and reducing the use of fertilizers. The preliminary results demonstrate the effectiveness of mulching in improving the quality of the turf and reducing the environmental impact resulting from the excessive or incorrect use of more polluting fertilizers. Furthermore, with a view to saving resources, the results prove that mulching is able to enter into synergy with the fertilizer, enhancing its effectiveness and therefore requiring a lower quantity – up to -60% – for a healthier lawn and quality».
