Some Quest virtual reality headsets are experiencing errors in use due to a problem with the software update that Meta is already investigating and has confirmed that there will be a solution.
In early December, some Meta Quest 3S devices began experiencing crashes due to issues with a software update, as Meta acknowledged days before it announced the latest version, v72.
Then, users of this model reported that their headsets were frozen on the USB update screen, a failure also present in models fresh out of the box and that has continued throughout the month of December.
In an update on its support page, Meta has extended the presence of the bug to the other models, Quest 2 and Quest 3. “We discovered a software update issue that causes some Quest 2/3/3S headsets to be unresponsive and not can be started correctly.
He also assured in this note that “they are working to solve the problem for everyone”, although the majority of users should be able to “use their device normally.”
