Flying saucer-shaped vehicle with a speed of 400 km/h

The fully autonomous electric aircraft model called “Invo Moon” can accommodate 3 passengers, providing 360-degree views above and below while traveling at speeds of more than 400 km/h, according to Mail. The vehicle is designed to be nearly silent, using a flight system hidden inside its shell rather than relying on noisy, exposed propellers like many competitors. With the same size and weight as a small family car, the aircraft can move in any direction, similar to a drone.

Investor Leo Kayali, a former Tesla engineer, said the design was inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci’s drawings more than five centuries ago. His goal is to get a license from the US aviation agency by 2027 and introduce the vehicle in every major city, including London, by the end of the decade. Future owners can even leave the machine to function as an Uber taxi when not in use. Invo Moon has a diameter of 4.9 m and weighs 1,134 kg, with a price of nearly 351,000 USD. However, Kayali is confident that the vehicle will be cheaper when mass produced.

While most electric flying vehicles rely on externally mounted propellers, the Invo Moon keeps every component inside an aluminum frame. The vehicle uses a complex new aerodynamic design, including more than a dozen motors, all containing rotating spheres, placed in a circle around the body. Using motors arranged in clusters of 4, the vehicle can move in all directions. To land, the machine opens three foldable landing gear. According to Kayali, this means the plane vibrates very little, emitting no more than 45 decibels of noise when moving, equivalent to light rain. Most other electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicles operate at about 85 decibels, which is about the sound of a mixer and creates too much wind.

Inside the cabin, there are 3 swivel seats with heating and full reclining functions, allowing passengers to enjoy the scenery above and below through transparent glass. The vehicle also has mood lighting, an ice cream maker and a smart TV. It has a range of more than 480 km, takes no more than 30 minutes to charge from 20% to 80%.

Although the design seems cutting-edge, it is in fact based on an idea by da Vinci in the 1480s. The driving function is fully automated and is designed to move in a 3-lane system similar to a highway, but take off vertically. The speed limit will increase in each level from 160 to 400 km/h and the vehicle will only land when it returns to the slowest speed.
