After living 100 days underwater, scientist rejuvenated 10 years

A man who lived 100 days underwater has revealed the astonishing effects the experiment had on his body.

Joe Dituri is a professor at the University of South Florida who made the decision to become a guinea pig and see what 100 days of life underwater would do to the human body. The environment is believed to be similar to that of long-duration space travel.

On March 1, 2023, Dituri, also known as Dr. Deep Seabegan the Neptune 100 challenge to live in an underwater habitat, a room at Jules’ Undersea Lodge in Key Largo, Florida, for 100 days.

Dituri’s body is believed to have been biologically rejuvenated, as he had longer telomeres, a chromosome structure sometimes linked to longevity.

He told Orlando’s WKMG News: “I’m 46 years old now. My extrinsic age [biológica] was 44 years old. When I came out of the water, my extrinsic age was 34.

So my telomeres got longer. I actually rejuvenated when I was underwater.

Additionally, all inflammatory markers in their blood tests were reduced by 50 percent.

One of the drawbacks of the experiment is that his height was reduced. In a TikTok video, Dituri explains: In the 100-day underwater mission, we encountered many good things. But the bad news was that I lost almost two centimeters.
