Telemach was among the first to test 5.5G, in Zagreb they achieved a download speed of a whopping 10 Gbit/s

Telemach announced on Tuesday that they were among the first operators in the world to test the possibilities of 5.5G and achieved an impressive data download speed in the mobile network. The testing was carried out in Zagreb at the location of the Telemacha data center and represents a significant step forward in the possibilities of 5G network technology, the company states and points out that they achieved a maximum data download speed of 10 Gbit/s.

In addition to better performance, i.e. data transfer speed, the key advantages of 5.5G technology are even lower latency and significantly higher efficiency in terms of energy consumption, all thanks to artificial intelligence, which is becoming an integral part of the network. infrastructure.

Also, a significant increase in capacity enables the connection of up to 10 times more devices at the same time compared to 5G. Lower latency, i.e. even faster network response, brings a better experience in real time, which is necessary for top online gaming, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) services, and the possibility of using autonomous vehicles. ČManagement member and chief technical director of Telemach Danijela Morović Bistrički explained: “The consumption of mobile data is increasing”. has been growing exponentially for years, and the 5.5G upgrade to the existing 5G standard will be the answer to future long-term market demands regarding mobile connectivity. At the same time, it is also a bridge to 6G technology.”

The highest speeds in the mobile network in Croatia were achieved by the aggregation of two carriers in the frequency band 800MHz and 26GHz and by the aggregation of five carriers in the frequency bands 700MHz, 1800MHZ, 2100MHz, 2600MHz and 3.5GHZ with the technique of multiple transmission and multiple reception (2×2 and 4×4 MIMO). These are the main methods on the basis of which 5G brings revolutionary speeds in the mobile network and makes maximum use of the frequency spectrum. The measurements were performed under controlled conditions on test equipment in the Telemacha data center on two commercial routers that support the 5.5G network.

The President of the Telemach Management Board, Adrian Ježina, concluded: “Telemach has once again shown that it is an innovative company that tests and invests in the most modern technologies.
