Samsung revolutionizes home audio with Eclipsa Audio

Samsung Electronics has announced the integration of Eclipsa Audio, a new 3D audio technology developed in collaboration with Google, into its 2025 range of TVs and soundbars. This innovation promises to redefine the home entertainment experience, offering dynamic and immersive that transports viewers to the center of the action. Eclipsa Audio is based on an innovative approach that allows content creators to precisely manipulate the position, intensity and reflections of sound, generating an unprecedented three-dimensional audio experience. This technology, integrated into the entire range of Samsung 2025 TVs, from the Crystal UHD models to the top of the range Neo QLED 8K, will be accessible to a wide range of consumers.

“We are proud to be pioneers in the industry with the adoption of Eclipsa Audio,” said Taeyong Son, Executive Vice President and Head of R&D of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “This technology opens up new possibilities for immersive audio and solidifies our commitment to home entertainment innovation.” The Korean company, a global leader in the TV market for 18 years, aims to democratize access to this cutting-edge technology, taking advantage of its dominant position in the large TV segment. Starting in 2025, content creators will be able to upload videos with Eclipsa audio tracks to YouTube, offering users of the latest generation Samsung devices a high-quality spatial audio experience.

To ensure high standards and faithful playback, Samsung and Google are working with the Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) to develop a certification program for Eclipsa Audio compatible devices. “Eclipsa Audio has the potential to revolutionize the way we perceive sound,” said Jim Bankoski, VP Engineering of Google Chrome. “We’re excited to see how content creators will leverage this technology to bring innovative audio experiences to life.”
