CES 2025: robots, artificial intelligence, flying cars and virtual reality at the technology fair

He CES 2025the largest technology fair in the world, opened its doors this week setting the trends that will dominate technological development this year. The headquarters is, as always, Las Vegas, in USA. It runs from January 7 to 11.

The Commerce It passed through the fair and what was seen is dazzling, ranging from robots, electric and flying cars, devices based on artificial intelligence that also take us to virtual reality (or metaverse).

The CES (Consumer Electronics Show) stands out for presenting devices that are used for majority consumption, so interaction with humans can be distinguished. This is the case of robots, equipment that can already interact almost perfectly.

But if something sets the trend, it is artificial intelligence and the interconnected house, as Samsung and its Vision AI have shown. What can be seen is the use of this technology in different devices, whether for home, work or entertainment. This is where the participation of semiconductor manufacturers such as NVIDIA also stands out.

Overcoming the pandemic

Another point to highlight is that, five years after the appearance of the COVID-19 pandemic, technology fairs have once again attracted as many people as before 2020.

A report from the Europapress news agency points out that with the global pandemic, measures were taken such as the confinement of users to avoid further infections, which resulted in the complete paralysis of attendance and celebration of in-person events of all types, including related to the technology sector.

In their latest editions, the main consumer technology conferences such as CES (Las Vegas, United States), IFA (Berlin, Germany), VivaTech (Paris, France) and MWC (Barcelona, ​​Spain) have once again been held with a format completely in person.

Specifically, IFA registered a total of 245,000 attendees in 2019 and in the 2024 edition it achieved attendance of 215,000 people. In the case of CESthe number of people who went to learn about the technological innovations shown in 2024 is also close to the data collected before the pandemic. Thus, 139,000 people attended in 2024, compared to the 175,000 people who registered in 2019.

VivaTech is the third technology fair with the most attendees. It managed to bring together 165,000 people in 2024, compared to 124,000 in 2019. And in the case of the MWC, 101,000 people participated in the technological meeting during 2024.
