2024 has been a key year for thousands of people to begin to adapt to the idea of using the artificial intelligence (AI). Thus, the “Our Life with AI” study shows signs of greater enthusiasm for using this technology.
According to the research, the adoption of AI rose globally from 38% in 2023 to 48% in 2024. In Latin America, more than 40% of respondents in countries such as Chile and Mexico have used it in the last year.
“Latin America is ready to embrace AI. Thanks to this latest study, we confirm the great optimism that exists about its impact on economic growth, job creation and the transformation of sectors such as health and education.”commented Adriana Noreña, vice president of Google for Latin America.
The study was prepared by Ipsos, Google reported, and shows how people cope with the digital transformation in the region and in other parts of the planet.
It also details that 57% of people surveyed globally feel more enthusiastic about the possibilities offered by this technology, surpassing concerns (43%).
The investigation evaluated the situation in the region, mainly in Brazil, Mexico and Chile. People believe this technology will be vital to work, not only as a tool to increase productivity, but to operate at a more strategic level, especially for managing complex data (84%) and solving business problems (82 %). Additionally, 57% believe AI will free up time to focus on more rewarding aspects of work.
On the other hand, more than 70% of respondents believe that AI will benefit people, surpassing the global average of 59%. This is how they expect AI to play a key role in their lives, from intelligent personal assistants to tools to improve productivity at work.
