Qualcomm has launched a new version of your processor for more advanced smartphones Snapdragon 8 Elite, model SM8750-3-ABwhich has been designed to boost the performance and AI features of smartphones with a Oryon CPU composed of 7 cores instead of 8.
The technology company presented the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor in October of last year, with the aim of promoting a new era of multimodal generative artificial intelligence in next-generation smartphones.
To do this, integrate the Custom Oryon CPU second generation which, after its presentation for PC, was implemented for the first time for mobile devices, increasing its performance by 45 percent and improving energy efficiency by 44 percent. It is also equipped with a Adreno GPU and a Hexagon NPU.
Now, Qualcomm has launched a new variant of the Snapdragon 8 Elite with version SM8750-3-AB (instead of the initial version SM8750-AB), which incorporates a design designed for foldable or slim smartphones.
Specifically, as detailed in the specifications sheet shared on its website, the new processor has practically the same features as the initial Snapdragon 8 EliteHowever, its composition Oryon CPU consists of a total of 7 coresinstead of the 8 used by the standard model.
In this way, Qualcomm has included the Oryon CPU of the SM8750-3-AB model two ‘Prime’ cores which offer a maximum frequency of 4,32 GHz, together with others five ‘Performance’ cores instead of six, which operate with a power of up to 3,53GHz.
Nevertheless, maintains Qualcomm AI Engine capabilities powered by Adreno GPU and Hexagon NPU, plus Oryon CPU, as well as technology Snapdragon Soundand Qualcomm’s personal area network (XPAN).
Following this line, it also includes the módem RF Snapdragon X80 5G, featuring a dedicated AI tensor that achieves multi-gigabit 5G speeds in more places with 4×6 MIMO solution and 30 percent more accurate location positioning.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite version SM8750-3-AB also equips the technology FastConnect 7900, with Bluetooth wireless connection, UWB proximity technology and WiFi distance measurement, in addition to the camera functions with the technology Qualcomm Spectra Image Signal Processor.
