Meta has announced the integration of WhatsApp in the Account Center, an optional feature that it has developed to promote fluid communication between its platforms and allows you to log in to multiple applications with the same account, among other advantages.

The technology company launched the Account Center in 2023 with the aim of offering all the configuration menus of Facebook, Messenger and Instagram and in which data such as security passwords, payment methods or advertising preferences coexist.

Meta has incorporated WhatsApp into this space now, so that users can easily share their status updates on other Facebook and Instagram, as well as log into multiple apps with the same account, i.e. single sign-on.

This is a feature that “can help those who want features to work more smoothly across applications,” the company shared in a statement.

In this, the developer of the messaging platform has stressed that messages and calls from the communication platform will remain encrypted end-to-end, as well as adding the WhatsApp account to the Account Center is optional and disabled by default.

On the other hand, it has announced that, over time, it will add more functions to the system, such as the ability to manage avatars, Meta AI ‘stickers’ and Imagine Me creations. from one place.

Likewise, it has clarified that when it executes these updates, it will explain them “clearly” in the different applications it develops so that users can choose the option that best suits their needs.

Meta plans to bring this option to users around the world, although it has acknowledged that this will take an indeterminate amount of time. As soon as it is available, it will be displayed in the WhatsApp settings or when the user tries to perform actions on multiple accounts.
