Apple has launched iOS 18.3, a significant update to the iPhone’s operating system, which offers many innovations for users, with an emphasis on matches in the field of artificial intelligence and visual intelligence.
One of the most prominent features of the update is changes in the alert abstract mechanism, which allows users to get a summary of concentrated alerts from the various apps. Following a complaint from the BBC on an incorrect abstract created for a news title, Apple has decided to temporarily disable the abstracts for new and entertainment apps until functionality. The users who have chosen to operate this option will be updated when the function is back to operate.
Apple has announced that appliances that support Apple Intelligence, including iPhone 15 Pro and more advanced iPhones, alongside iPads and Macs with Apple Silicon M1 and above, will automatically turn this option by default.
IOS 18.3 update brings new capabilities in visual intelligence, which allows for more quick and advanced operations. The most prominent features can be found: adding events to the calendar from posters or flyers: Users can now take a poster of an event or flyer, and the system will identify the information and allow direct add to the event to the calendar app.
Another feature provides users an innovative tool for fast plants and animals through the camera, and is especially suitable for nature enthusiasts, travelers and gardeners.
To make use of users to distinguish between alerts and ordinary alerts, Apple has decided to view the alerts in an ITALIC text format (ITALIC). In addition, advanced management options have been added that allow users to control the alerts directly from the lock screen, which gives a convenient and customized use experience.
At the same time as the iPhone update, Apple launched MacOS 15.3 for Mac, which includes support for a new feature called Genemoji. This feature allows users to customize emojis, adding another dimension of personal expression. Macs also made adjustments to the alert abstract mechanism, similar to iOS changes.
IPhone users can download the iOS 18.3 update by entering “Settings”, beyond “General”, and choosing “software updates”. The update is available to all supported devices.
