Tiktok, Trump denies the voices on acquisition by Oracle

The US administration has launched talks with several subjects interested in the acquisition of Tiktok, with the aim of defining the future of the application within a period of thirty days. President Donald Trump said he had discussed with numerous interlocutors regarding the issue, underlining the strong interest manifested towards the platform. According to sources close to the negotiations, the administration is developing a plan to guarantee the operational continuity of Tiktok, involving the Oracle software company and a group of external investors. The agreement during the negotiation phase would provide that bytedance, the current owner based in China, maintains a share in the company, while the management of data collection and software updates would be entrusted to Oracle, former supplier of TikTok’s web infrastructure.

Despite the rumors about the possible agreements with Oracle, President Trump said he had not discussed directly with Larry Ellison, co -founder of the company, regarding the acquisition of the application. He also specified that negotiations are underway with various important realities, which have expressed a concrete interest in the purchase of Tiktok. The president said that a definitive decision will be taken within thirty days, while Congress has granted a term of ninety days to complete the operation. The sources also reported that the details of any agreement with Oracle remain flexible and subject to possible changes. The scope of the negotiations could extend not only to US operations, but also to other geographical areas. Meanwhile, the National Public Radio has reported that the discussions concern the acquisition of the global Tiktok activities, citing sources aware of the negotiations. Oracle, at the moment, has not made official statements about the matter.
