Tapio Vehmas invented a technique where the concrete swallows carbon
In a very ordinary -looking factory, Hollola already has a technology that can make concrete a significant carbon sink.

Concrete is a climate problem because the cement used in its manufacture produces massive carbon dioxide emissions. With the new Finnish technology, the setting can turn over.

Gray there is. The road is dark gray, get a light gray, the sky in between.

Concrete by Rakennusbetoni and -lelementti Oy manufactures concrete along the Lahti -Hämeelinna road in Hollola. All surfaces of the factory are covered by gray dust.

In the very corner of the ordinary factory hall, very special concrete bumps harden. They are packed more carbon dioxide than their production has allowed the air.
