PlayStation combines football and basketball in a crossover event in Paris

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), in collaboration with NBA and UEFA Champions League, organized a unique event of its kind in Paris, merging football and basketball in an unprecedented sports experience. The initiative, held in conjunction with the UEFA Champions League match between Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City and the 2025 edition of the NBA Paris Games, saw the creation of a special playing field inspired by the Dualsense controller. The field, characterized by two soccer doors and two basketball baskets, was the background to compelling challenges between the personality of the world of sport and content creator. Among the participants, the former NBA Stella Tony Parker, the former footballer Robert Pires and the footballer Mary Earps, winner of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

The event also involved local amateur players in a double discipline tournament, in which the ball and sport changed after each basket or goals. The winners won tickets to attend the NBA match in Paris and a future UEFA Champions League challenge. Tony Parker, four times NBA champion, expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, underlining the originality of the event and the link between the two sports. Mary Earps highlighted the inclusive character of the initiative and the importance of overcoming its limits, both on the field and outside. Finally, Robert Pires praised Paris’s choice as a location, calling it “magical” for his atmosphere and view of the city. The event, which embodied the motto “Play has no limits”, offered a memorable experience for the participants and celebrated the passion for sport in all its forms.
