Robot Firefighter: This equipment throws 2,000 liters of water per minute and changed fire attention

The Kent Fire Department, in England, will test an ingenious robot firemanso that fire attention could receive a huge change.

It is one of the most dangerous work. Firefighters usually risk life to quell a fire or rescue people, so robotics appears.

The new robot has overcome various tests and is ready to enter service, says a Spanish report. It will be intended for large industrial and commercial areas.

Its operation responds to three needs. Mark Woodward says, manager of the Kent Fire and Rescue Service, which seeks to “maintain the safety of firefighters, reduce the number of resources in an incident and limit the time we are there.”

In a fire the risk is mixed by the very high temperatures, the presence of smoke, the possibility of collapse, with the urgency to rescue the victims.

The robot is used remotely, at a distance of up to 600 meters. It is provided with a powerful traction to get the victims on a stretcher and an irrigation system with the capacity to spray up to 2,000 liters of water per minute. In addition, it has the sensors to recognize their surroundings, and resistance to support high temperatures.
