Acer, the Italian school overlooks the future of Adtech

On the occasion of the Bett Show, we had the opportunity to interview Cristina Pez, Acer’s Emea Director B2B & Education, to deepen the role of the company in the Italian panorama of the Adtech and the prospects related to the introduction of genai in schools

The world of Italian education is experiencing a phase of profound transformation, driven by the wave of technological innovation. A crucial appointment to feel the pulse of this change was London’s Bett Show, a prominent European showcase for digital solutions applied to education. The 2025 edition of the Bett Show has seen an extraordinary participation of companies in the technological sector, eager to present their proposals for the classes of the future. A central theme, as predictable, was that of generative artificial intelligence (genai), with its potential to revolutionize the approach to teaching and learning.

Acer presented the results of a research conducted on over 700 European schools at Bett Show, with a particular focus on Italy. The investigation revealed a complex picture, with lights and shadows. If on the one hand it emerges a strong interest of teachers towards digital technologies, in particular laptop computers, on the other there is still a limited use of these tools, often relegated to basic tasks such as access to platforms and educational materials. An interesting fact concerns artificial intelligence: half of the teachers interviewed declares that they already use genai tools for the preparation of lessons, but concerns related to the risk of incorrect use by students, such as copying during homework.
