Research: This is how the sleep pattern can affect children’s weight development

A doctoral student Anna Abdollahi The Faculty of Agricultural Forestry at the University of Helsinki says that chronic disturbances in the daily rhythm may expose children to long-term health problems.

“The observation emphasizes the importance of maintaining consistent sleep routines and taking into account the personal circadian rhythm from a young age,” Abdollahi says in the release.

He says that even though the duration of sleep has been widely examined in the past, his research emphasizes that the time for sleeping children can be as important as the duration of sleep.

“Sleep is a basic health pillar especially for growing children,” Abdollahi says.
