The national tour for hydrogen starts from Udine

On February 25, 2025, it will mark the beginning of a significant event in the field of sustainable energy in Italy with the launch of H2 Incromune from Udine. This national information tour, promoted by H2IT – Italian Hydrogen Association – and Renael (National Network of Local Energy Agencies), aims Educate and sensitize public administration technicians and political decision makers on the benefits and challenges related to the use of hydrogen as an energy carrier.

The tour includes Five strategic stages through Italy, starting from Friuli-Venezia Giulia with an event organized at the Confindustria headquarters in Udinein collaboration with the APE FVG, the local energy agency that coordinates Renael’s hydrogen table.

The H2incomune project represents a fundamental step to support political decision makers and the local public administration to the opportunities that hydrogen offersAlberto Dossi, president of H2IT said. Initiatives such as this allow you to confront directly with local institutions and to align with the staff so that it can deal with the energy revolution coming soon thanks to hydrogen. H2COMUNE is not only an opportunity to enhance the territorial projects for the development of the hydrogen chain, but it is also a great way to immediately involve the public administration that represents a fundamental partner in the development of the initiatives“.

H2COMUNE is a strategic initiative to accompany public administrations in the energy transition path and enhance the opportunities offered by hydrogen locally. Like Renael we are happy that the tour starts from Udine since the local Energy Agency Ape FVG coordinates the focus team on the hydrogen of the national network. Never as in this moment it is important to share, directly in the territories, experiences and concrete projects, favoring the growth of essential skills to face the challenges of decarbonisation” – explained Pierrgabriele Andreoli, president of the national network of local energy agencies.

As APE FVG, we believe that clear and independent information is essential to support the public administration in the strategic choices related to the energy transition. The H2COMUNE project is an important opportunity to spread the culture of hydrogen and share concrete experiences that can guide the territories towards a conscious adoption of this energy carrier. Hydrogen represents a great opportunity for innovation and decarbonisation, and Friuli-Venezia Giulia is ready to play a leading role in this path” – Matteo Mazzolini, director of Ape Fvg stressed.

During the event, various experts in the energy sector will discuss the potential of hydrogen, illustrating how this resource can transform the energy panorama and contribute to decarbonisation. The day includes interventions by local and national authorities, popular sessions and presentations of Innovative projects such as the North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley and the Interreg Alpine Space Amethyst projectboth aimed at promoting the use of green hydrogen.

In particular, the North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley represents A transnational initiative involving Italy, Slovenia and Croatia, focused on the production and use of hydrogen in industrial and infrastructure areas. This project is part of a larger context of investments, with over 500 million euros allocated by the national recovery and resilience plan (PNRR) for the development of Hydrogen Valley in Italy, to which are added other funding from the Repower EU program.
