Wind switching equipment from electric aircraft

American Jetwind Power Corporation Install the world’s first Energy Collection Chamber (ECP) at Dallas Love Field Airport, Texas, Interesting Engineering On February 13 reported. The device will catch the wind from the aircraft and convert it into renewable energy, marking a step forward on the sustainable energy solution for transport infrastructure.

“The main goal of the project is to take advantage of the continuous airflow created by the aircraft and turn into environmentally friendly energy. Promoting more intelligent and more sustainable infrastructure worldwide, ”said Souryal, founder and president of Jetwind.

The installation of the ECP at Dallas Love Field took place after the testing period from 2021 to 2024, in which the prototypes were evaluated for the efficiency of the wind from the aircraft. After this period, the city of Dallas allowed Jetwind to install 13 devices at the airport for three years. Currently 5 devices are operating and 8 other devices are expected to be installed in the coming years. Dallas Love Field also built two charging stations with ECP energy source, currently recorded about 10,000 use since operation in November 2024.

The ECP is designed to be able to adapt to many different transport infrastructure, including helicopters, trains, roads, which can expand for civil and military infrastructure. Jetwind’s technology attracts great attention from many countries such as Australia, Brazil, Ecuador, Switzerland, England, France, and big projects like Neom City of Saudi Arabia. Jetwind is discussing with potential partners and aiming to set up a strong international presence in 2025.

The deployment of the ECP is expected to help reduce the pressure on the Texas grid, reduce the shortage and promote renewable energy sources. Patrick Carreno, aviation director of Dallas, expressed his pride in Dallas Love Field airport, the first place in the world to apply this technology.
