Cars can fly and run on the road for the first time taking off

“This is the first flight recorded and verified by a flying car (a real car, capable of upright take off, no connection),” said Jim Dukhovny, CEO of Alef Aeronautics, written on LinkedIn social network.

The flight model in the test is Alef Model Zero Super Light version. Meanwhile, the first flying car that Alef Aeronautics intends to commercialize called Alef Model A. Because there is a body like a regular car, the car can run on the road and park in the parking lots.

The development group said that Alef Model A has the ability to run 320 km and fly about 177 km. With anti -vibration gimbal system, the car cabin can be stable when moving in the air. The car is also equipped with the Elevon system to control vertical, horizontal and inclined motion.

The development group decided not to add an external propeller for safety. Currently, all the main components on the car have a provision of 3-8 times. The car is also equipped with detection systems and avoid obstacles, landing, umbrellas.

After the test prototype made the first flight, the development team will continue to test flight, simulate software and analyze before producing. Currently, Alef Aeronautics flying cars are the first vehicle with the ability to take off vertically to receive a flight license in the US from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Alef Model A will run entirely with electricity. According to Alef Aeronautics, on each trip, this model uses less energy than Tesla or any other electric car and electric flight taxi take off vertically.

After Alef Model Zero and Alef Model A, Alef Aeronautics intends to develop Alef Model Z in the future. This is a flying model for 4 people, expected to be launched in 2035. The car can fly 320 km and run 644 km. This version is expected to fly automatically, different from the previous versions.
