Apple plans to integrate its new modem into the processor that also designs, according to Bloomberg

Apple He has presented his First Modem of Own Design With the iPhone 16E, a component that hopes to integrate into the main processor, also of its signature, although it is plans that would take several years to complete.

C1 is the first modem designed by Apple. This component is responsible for Internet connectivity on the iPhone and replaces Qualcomm, which the Cupertino company has used so far.

The modem has debuted by the hand of iPhone 16E, recently presented and in which it arrives integrated, although Apple has not influenced much in the characteristics of this component.

According to Mark Gurman, Journalist at Bloomberg specialized in Apple, the company plans to integrate its own modem into the processor that also designs. This would help boost electronics to be more efficient and reduce costs.

The plans to join both components, however, are not immediate; The roadmap shared by Gurman foresees its launch, as very soon, in 2028.

On the other hand, and although C1 has already reached the company’s ‘hardware’, Apple already proves the following iterations: C2, with an eye on its arrival in 2026 with the high -end iPhone; and C3, which would appear the following year, as Gurman anticipates.
