Tiktok: Mobile app adapts to the desktop with new modular design and immersive live videos

Tiktok He has launched an update for the web version of his service, which will have a new modular design, an updated ‘feed’ for you, a new tab, a new explore tab, live videos immersive on complete screen and a floating player.

Bytedance, owner of the platform, has indicated that thanks to this update, it has the most characteristic functions of the mobile ‘app’ to the web and creates “a unified and fluid visualization experience, which reflects the functions that people love in the mobile experience”.

The firm has also recognized that, although the ‘app’ “is known and appreciated” as a platform that prioritizes mobile devices, “there are times when display in the content is more convenient”, so it has tried to bring different phones functions to the experience with PC.

Updates, already available worldwide, include an immersive and optimized modular design, thanks to which it will be possible to discover content more easily. This presents a repositioned navigation bar and reduces distractions.

With them also comes live games in vertical or horizontal mode, providing a horizontal view of full screen for desktop equipment users. Mobile users can rotate their devices to enjoy an equally dynamic visualization experience.

Another novelty announced by Bytedance is the deployment of the exclusive floating player for the web, available on the desktop through Google Chrome. This floating window allows you to perform multiple tasks while visualizing Tiktok content.

Finally, the Collections function is intended to orgaize videos by personalized categories, which makes it easier to find and visit the saved content.
